At the Swiss Marketing Day in Fribourg, the British household equipment company Dyson, presented The Swiss Dyson Student Awards for the first time.

This goal of The Dyson Awards is to encourage innovative and creative solutions for technology and design. The entrants were University students from from around the world. The jury, which consisted of celebrities in the fields of technology, mechanical design and marketing, voted «SpeakersCorner» for the award.

«SpeakersCorner» is a revolutionary 'Multi-Media Podium'. With «SpeakersCorner» various standard digital or analog media (Powerpoint, websites, film, See-Through, 3-D objects, etc. ) are all seamlessly integrated.

On the interactive screen of the podium, the lecturer can make annotations or sketches. With this annotation feature, the unit can be used in the same manner as a flipchart or whiteboard, resulting in natural and lively presentations.

Erich Geiser, director of Dyson Switzerland, is shown presenting the winner--ETH Project Leader Uwe Werner--a check for 10,000 Swiss francs for the development of «SpeakersCorner». At his side is jury member Peter Schweizer, manager for the engineering and development of the Technical School of Northwest Switzerland.

The winner was a group of students from the Federal Institut of Technology, Zurich who worked as scientific assistents for the Center of Product Design, based within this famous Swiss Institut. Uwe Werner, heard of that group of students leads now Tribecraft AG, a company aimed to provide professional services in industrial design.
