What is Multi-Channel Webcast ?

Multi-lingual and region-specific modified webcast using «PLAY» or «PLAY Enterprise»

In brief

«PLAY» springs into action at the point where traditional server software falls short. In other words, a multi-channel webcast refers to a 'parallel synchronization' of similar or modified presentations (such as Powerpoint) and the parallel encoding of multiple audio sources.

Why multi channel?

Obviously a lot more preparation is involved when conveying important information to a broad international audience. Here's where multi-channel webcast provides an all-in-one solution for achieving the desired impact.

With «PLAY» Enterprise, complex customer requirements are simplified.

One of our ongoing customer needs is having the ability to 'recycle' presentations to satisfy the specific requirements of differing regional target groups.

An example is where a presentation for an Internet audience might need to be altered in ways that different corporations or institutions can identify with (such as a company logo display). The only thing which needs changing would be the viewing instrument, player, itself. This can be done simultaneously using «PLAY» in Multichannel Mode.

Another situation would be offering different audio for simutaneous translation. Upon translation, you then have multiple texts, and so consequently need different content for different groups. «PLAY» does it with no extra effort for the operating technician.

A classic example is with the car industry. During a presentation «PLAY» might be showing the interior of a car for a German audience, while at the same time a British audience might be viewing the same basic presentation, but with variations (such as right-side vs left-sidedriver positions). This sort of variation allows for immediate brand recognition or worth.

Nothing changes during the lecturer's live presentation. It can be exhibited while the moderatoris working in the background distributing content to meet the needs of various Internet target groups.

This sort of broadcast needs more preparation, but the incredible advantages of multi-channel-broadcasts is irrefutable. Once again, a setup of «PLAY» would be stored onto the «PLAY» Apllication server, ready for the next broadcast with no preperation time at all.

What multi channel webcasts offer

- Recycling of important content for larger audiences and in diferent languages
- Coordination of region specific slides for appropriate target audiences
- Limitless number of channels for various needs (such as band width, etc.) and maximum distribution
- Offering of multi channel webcasts for very large Internet audiences via the use of partner webcasts
- Preparation of a multi channel webcast is essentially the same as with simple broadcasts
- Hierarchical structure of «PLAY» allows administrators to have a clear overview

USE

The set up is easy

Multi-lingual presentations are easily set up on the «PLAY» server in their appropriate language folders.
The administrator prepares the channels and either arranges the desired corporate identity or uses the given top-level channel.
The simultaneously translated audio is then automatically coordinated by «PLAY» with each encoder.

A moderator of «PLAY» (who for example is operating a German program) switches the corresponding language slides with one simple mouse click. Additional players for other audiences just follow automatically.

«PLAY» coordinates everything without any additional effort, including the distribution of the audio streamand divergent graphics, for the target audience.
The producer isn't saddled with time-consuming post-production, since all content is generated live.

Multi channel support is the main reason why our customers choose «PLAY». There is just no software out there that can handle the complex requirement like «PLAY».

Possibilities are so vast due to the simple structure of «PLAY». an due to its modular basis, there are really no limits.

«PLAY» Enterprise works from a pre-configured set of channels with the same ease-of-use.

Benefits:
All manual stages of production are not only time-consuming(10-20 hours of production time for each hour of video presentation) but also conducive to error.

«PLAY» automates all of the stages for a broadcast and allows you to generate your Rich Media presentations on-the-fly. And as the work flow in «PLAY» is completely standardized it eliminates error sources.
