What is «PLAY»? in Brief «PLAY» can be called a 'Web-based Rich Media Production Environment' which enables 'on-the-fly'video and audio subject matter (such as lectures) to be joined into a recordable, Rich Media presentation . Presentations can then be broadcasted either 'live' or 'on demand' over the Internet and viewed in any standard web-browser. Since the «PLAY» software is installed on a web application server, you need only a web browser and internet access to successfully operate it. For recording and broadcasting audio-visual content, a Real Helix Server or Quicktime Streaming Server is utilized (Windows Media is also supported). «PLAY» can either be used as a stand-alone solution, or in combination with «Speakers Corner», the revolutionary'Multi-Media Podium'. All these manual stages of production are not

presentation) but also conducive to error. «PLAY» automates all of these stages and allows you to generate your Rich Media presentations on-the-fly, and as the work flow in «PLAY» is completely standardized, which eliminates these multiple error sources. Freedom and Flexibility for the Lecturer «PLAY» was created so that the lecturer has the freedom to lecture in the accustomed manner.You do not need any special technical expertise to benefit from «PLAY». Additionally, you have the choice to utilize your laptop as you normally do during your lecture, or else use it in combination with the «SpeakersCorner» known as «SpeakAndPlay » , and thus benefit from its advanced features. Ease of Use As a moderator for «PLAY», you do not need to study complicated manuals or go through time-consuming specialtraining in order to work with «PLAY». However, knowledge in the use of web browsers and file systems can be advantageous, where everything can be learned in either a short tutorial or half-day workshop. Using the software, the «PLAY» moderator is led systematically through the necessary steps. The use of «PLAY» is very intuitive and is supported by online help. And whenever you require any additional help, you can feel free to phone or contact us via email. Platform Independence The interface for the moderator, as well as for the audience, is fully web-based. This means «PLAY» can be controlled with any computer with Internet access. And on the audience side, there's simply a corresponding browser plug-in required. Depending on the choosen video format (for recording) the installation of Real-,QuickTime-, or Windows Media- plugins are necessary for viewers, but usually come with a standard web-browser. Unlike other systems, the installation of proprietary software is not necessary. Modular Expandability The basic version of «PLAY» includes the full set of features, with even more on the way for the«PLAY» and «SpeakersCorner» combination.
